As women, we know we need to take time for ourselves. We know that if we do not refill our own reserves we eventually run out of energy and compassion for others. We know that without adequate self care we are more prone to get sick, to lose enthusiasm for work, to become depressed, to have sleep problems, challenges in relationships, lowered focus and concentration, and increased anxiety. We are intelligent women and we know all these things, yet when it comes to for caring for ourselves, the time for it always seems to be around the next corner, after the project is complete, after the needs of others are met…We all know how it works.
Perspectives Center for Holistic Therapy is launching a new initiative to support women in learning to care for ourselves in little and big ways. To kick this off we will be hosting a women’s day retreat. This does not require excessive travel or large investments of time and/or money. This is one day—only a day…a day for you.
We are offering a collection of workshops to engage your mind, and nurture your body and soul. There is ample and easy parking. Once you park your car, you can immerse yourself in the experience of the day. Participants will be able to choose from workshops in each of three blocks. We will be meeting in our office space on Main Street in the downtown district of Tucker. This will enable participants to walk to lunch on your own at any of the quaint little eateries in the area, continuing the immersion experience. Topics from which participants can choose will include: The Intersection of Mental and Physical Health with Susan Tanner, MD, Parenting with More Confidence with Lauren Foster, MS,CCC/SLP,CNHP,CPDE, Healing Racial Wounds with Belinda Lee, MS, LAPC, Spiritual Art with Michelle Shlafman, MS, LAPC, Women and Sexuality with Camille Hankins,MS, LAPC, Therapeutic Yoga with JoAnna Castrilla-Cole,MSSA, LCSW, and Guided Meditation with Laurie Patrice, MS,LPC,BCPC, CPCS.
