Between the ages of 8 and 14, girls’ confidence levels fall by 30 percent. Resisting this trend requires taking some risks, developing skills, and practicing healthy thought patterns.  In this group we will offer girls the opportunities they need to thrive.  Our work together will encompass fun activities and conversations for the girls and provide opportunities for the girls to teach their families some of the cool things they are learning.

Our group is built around the foundational book, The Confidence Code for Girls by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman.  We will weave in drama, mindfulness, music, art, challenges, stories, quizzes, and lots of fun.  The girls will develop relationships with each other and deepen the relationship with the self.  Together the girls will learn and practice the patterns of risk, failure, recovery and mastery.  Research suggests these patterns facilitate the development of healthy self identity , self worth, and resilience.

The Confidence Code for Girls group will begin on Tuesday September 3, and will meet weekly on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 6:20 throughout the school year.

Michelle Shlafman and Erica Webb will be the group leaders. You can learn more about Michelle and Erica :

There is no greater investment we can make in our daughters than true confidence.
